Pedr brings over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry; working everywhere from tiny café’s to 5 star hotels, brewery-bars, and cruise ships.
Pedr’s food service experience is extensive and his
first true passion.

Since 1978...
Mexico City Food Products was the first company to bring the Nixtamal method to Australia.

In 1978, under Senor Nila Mexican Products, the production had begun but was limited to restaurants and some Mexicans who knew the secret.

Later on, in 2000, Chef Luis Sada took over the business and created Mexico City Food Products. Under Luis’ guidance the Nixtamal family added on Tortilla chips, Tostadas (Mexican Taco shell) and most of the products that we have today.

Mexico is a culturally rich and diverse country, with an ancient background that prevails to this day in its traditions and its food.

Nixtamal is an ancient craft process used by the Aztecs in which the corn is gently cooked in a natural alkaline solution and rested overnight. This process enhances the taste and nutritional value of the corn, increasing the calcium, iron and zinc levels.
